smart broadband internet...

Anyway, here is my first blog. For you out there who is searching for a comment or insight at smart broadband Internet (aka smart bro(-ken)) , i hope you find this helpful.

application: you can call them, apply in Internet or visit your nearest smart center outlet. they are friendly IN APPLICATION, (ha ha ha). pay the advance amount(if any?) and wait for the installation.

installation: after they ring in your bell, guide them to your PC and ROOF(ha ha ha). They will search for the strongest(if any). now, from here is your road to thorns in your application to smart bro-ken. he he he. after they get a signal, don't let them go yet. wait after 10-15 minutes for the connection really to have a stable connection. search the net, download some music, or have a speed test to know what speed you really acquired. There are many online speed test sites and be sure to test your connection, not just one site. In the event that you don't have any connection at all, a word of advice, cancel your subscription. why? because those linemen will force to get a signal even the weakest they can get. They wont tell you that it is not good and for a period of 1 year you will have a crappy signal. This can be a real headache, trust me, i had been there.

if your signal is OK, don't rejoice yet. your nightmares don't come yet. he he he.

lock in period: for a period of 1 year, your stuck with smart bro(-ken). Good signals or crappy signals it wont matter. You must enjoy whatever signals they gave you. Good signals, it will keep you from their friendly customer support. Bad means, Congratulations, you just earned an enemy, 24/7 customer support. he he he, Well if you really want to have your connection disconnected, just pay the fees as stated in your terms of agreement. (even though you get a crappy signal and the service is so so bad, you still have to pay. Philippine Law sucks.) To overcome this, find a loophole in the terms. One i think is, 3 months no signal. But 3 months of no signal is just overkill. It happen rarely and you need people from the department of national telecommunications to prove that you have a crappy signal. This process can be a real pain in the ass. he he he.

customer support: your customer support is your daily answering machine for smart bro(-ken). he he he. Why? They function just like one. Over and Over they say the same things. Don't expect your connection to be fixed right away. I had experienced the worst from them. Sometimes going to church is much better than talking to them. he he he

Well as for me, I am thru with them, from 2006 to 2008 i can say i experienced the good and bad of them. I think, I had 2 months or more disconnected days with them and wish i cancel my subscription in the lock in period. But, the service went on because of good signal i receive. Imagine even with a storm pouring in, i still have good signal. I still have internet even though it is signal number 1-2 here. He he he...

But, I still decided to cut-off my subscription. Smart Bro dont provide me still the service i needed. A 512kbps speed at 998 is not better than 1mbps at 999 of other ISP. So i switch to another problem, i mean provider.

pros:

*** can still received a good signal even though there is a storm.
*** less wires, only from canopy antenna to your pc
*** bill always comes early :)

cons:

*** repair sucks! your internet disconnection can be from1-365 days :D
*** bad customer service(answering machine)... you can make an enemy from them.
*** canopy antenna installation (if the linemen are not good in installing it, they will damaged your house/roof)
*** slow for 999 php for 512 kbps
*** lightning rod for house... but look in a different way, your house is safe, but your pc not. hehehe
*** depending on your area/house, you may have a strong or weak signal. it is not the same for nationwide.

Well hope you like my blog for smart bro. I will keep updating this blog from now on. ;)
